Created as part of Facebook’s Artist in Residence (AIR) Program, this installation brought nature-driven imagery into Facebook’s “Silicon Beach” location. The large-scale collaged murals play with ideas of chaos and control — the garden being a piece of nature that you can control. Flowers, thorns, animals and mushrooms are all small, varied parts that form a cohesive ecosystem. The overlap between wilderness and society is where interesting things happen. To counteract the work of staring at a computer screen all day, the work portrays an endless horizon, mirroring the Playa Vista landscape, for the viewer to get lost within.
