Production Manager

Ryan Ross

I operate at the intersection of fine art and technical fabrication, serving as a Production Manager dedicated to helping artists realize complex, large-scale visions. My work is defined by the ability to balance the creative intent of a piece with the technical rigor required to make it a physical reality. I provide the material expertise and logistical oversight necessary to transform ambitious concepts into permanent public landmarks, ensuring they are as durable and well-crafted as they are visually compelling.

My methodology is informed by an extensive academic and instructional background, including multiple degrees and an MFA in Art and Technology from The Ohio State University. Having spent years as a college-level educator, I have taught a diverse range of disciplines, including sculpture, digital art, woodworking, and robotic art. This experience has refined my ability to deconstruct intricate technical processes and communicate them effectively, making advanced digital fabrication both accessible and actionable for my collaborators.

I specialize in the multi material demands of contemporary public art, utilizing a technical toolkit that bridges traditional craft and emerging technology. I maintain professional proficiency in woodworking, metalworking, and glass, while leading digital production through advanced CAD modeling, 3D printing, and laser cutting. My expertise further extends to systems integration, incorporating electronics and mechanization to bring interactive or kinetic installations to life.
Beyond the fabrication shop, I act as a vital liaison between the artist’s studio and the professional worlds of architecture and engineering. I excel at translating creative intent into technical specifications and managing the complex logistics of production. By ensuring that every component meets rigorous industry standards without compromising the artist’s original vision, I guide projects from the initial digital model to final site installation with a focus on precision, safety, and expert execution.
